GRAND RAPIDS CHRISTIAN

HIGH SCHOOL

At Grand Rapids Christian High School, our students are setting themselves apart—and as a school, so are we.

  • Our teachers create dynamic classes that invite inquiry, nurture creative thinking, and meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
  • Students are held to rigorous academic standards and are positioned for acceptance at colleges and universities and for success in the workplace.
  • Students are frequently assessed and teachers utilize assessment data to individualize learning and ensure students achieve at their potential.

Grand Rapids Christian High School is one of West Michigan’s top-performing high schools. Named an “Exemplary Secondary School” by the U.S. Department of Education, it’s recognized for

  • Its extraordinary culture of faith
  • The breadth and excellence of its academics
  • The quality and diversity of its fine arts
  • Its wide range of athletic activities

Grand Rapids Christian High School encourages learning that builds on students’ gifts and talents. The DeVos Center for Arts and Worship offers hands-on experience in fine arts, both on stage and behind the scenes. We also offer many advanced placement classes to prepare students for college.

Our unique daily schedule – similar to a college model, featuring classes which meet for up to 80 minutes three times a week  – gives students the time needed to delve deeply into a particular subject or topic.   This allows students the time they need to master academic skills and pursue elective courses for which they have a passion or about which they desire to learn more.

We expect students to demonstrate knowledge of our Christian perspective as they are challenged to make decisions, raise questions, and examine real-life  problems through the curriculum.

  • The Class of 2022 average ACT composite score was 24.5.  This compares to the state average of 24.
  • In 2019, 255 students took 633 Advancement Placement exams in 15 subject areas.
  • Students earned at least one score of three or higher on 79% of those exams.  This significantly exceeds state and global averages of 65% and 61% respectively.
